Truc Lam Pagoda, Khanh Hoa

Truc Lam pagoda is designed with the architecture from the North in the area of over 3.3 ha.it has become one of the cultural and spiritual centers, attracting a great number of tourists as well as monks and nuns, Buddhists from all over the nation and the world.

Truc Lam Pagoda, situated on Hon Tre island, in the resort of Vinpearl Land, opened in September 2008 after 2 years of construction. And in May 2009, the pagoda was identified and approved to be the on-island biggest pagoda. Since then, it has become one of the cultural and spiritual centers, attracting a great number of tourists as well as monks and nuns, Buddhists from all over the nation and the world.

 In Vinpearl Land, the pagoda is just a 20 minute-walk on the stone steps around the slopes from the hotel. Or you can take a tram to get there. Located on a cliff, facing a windy bay, filled with sunshine everyday, the pagoda blends beautifully with the nature around. In addition to that, the pagoda has an ancient look, just like it was built very long time ago. Research had been done to take the best location and architecture for the pagoda.

The pagoda is designed with the architecture from the North in the area of over 3.3 ha. The entire worshiping area is made of wood of the best quality, curved with the four supernatural animals. Especially, the highlight is the statue of Buddha Quan Am Nam Hai, overlooking the ocean. It was sculptured from a block of white rock, 14 metres high and weighing 14 tons,

The name of the pagoda was taken from a very old meditation characteristic, the Truc Lam. It was founded by King Tran Nhan Tong, and other two masters in Buddhism, Phap Loa and Huyen Quang in the twelfth century. The pagoda is decorated with sanctuary from the system of seventy-two Buddha statues. All of them are large and lively sculptured from wood. There are also a lot more of scrolls, fronts, all curved beautifully and skillfully.

 Truc Lam Pagoda can be referred to as the work of unique spiritual culture. This is a good spatial orientation of the heart, where all visitors can go to contemplate and pray good things for the family. Many tourists in Nha Trang said that going to Truc Lam Pagoda, they understand much more about ancients pagodas of the Northern architecture and the traditional worshiping of the ancient Vietnamese.
